Saulo joined the data science team at Octant as a Cheminformatics/ML scientist. His background is multidisciplinary, but focused on the development and application of computational methods to address biology and chemistry problems in early discovery. He obtained his PhD from the University of Oxford and completed a joint postdoctoral training at Stanford and UCSF.

Prior to joining Octant, Saulo worked at two biotech startups, Frontier Medicines and Atomwise, where he helped develop methods for experimental automation, target selection, hit identification, and in silico hit-to-lead.

Outside of work, Saulo likes trying new foods, listening to live music, and tending to his coffee habit.
